It was a season of streaks, and an up and down year for the Varsity Hockey team. Hard hit by graduation, the team relied on many younger players. The season began with six straight loses, many to perennial powers like Ridgefield and Greenwich. Rather than quit, the team finally began to pull together. As the offense gained much needed experience, the team finally broke loose and began the season’s second streak. They were winners six out of the next seven games. It was a streak in which the team accomplished its greatest victory of the year, an emotional 6-4 comeback upset win over Westhill. Although losers of their final four games, the team views their season with a measure of success. The team consisted of many diverse groups and the coaches and seniors are commended for their efforts to maintain a feeling of team unity.
